Comments:This is not the kind of book I usually read, but I was intrigued by the title so I decided to give it a go. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Very little time was spent on the actual stories in the writing club. Much more time was devoted to the lives and motivations of these four women. As with real life, each of these women came from different backgrounds and different life experiences, but they managed to bypass these differences and overcome hostilities and prejudices to form the lasting bond that is sisterhood.

I was warned this book might be a little racy and I suppose, if one isn’t used to such things that might be true. However, as a person who enjoyed the ‘Lucky’ books and who counts Earth’s Children among her all time favourite literature, I found the ‘racy’ bits quite tame. I did get a few laughs, though, and that’s always a plus in a book. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a light but meaningful read.
