Ok. As a massive fan of Harry Potter, it comes as no surprise that I think J.K. Rowling is a brilliant storyteller. However, even I can admit that her writing does have room for improvement. I have, therefore, read several stories that were technically better-written than the original books.
I won’t be using that as my goal-post, though, because a book, or story, can be technically well-written while still being about as entertaining as watching grass grow on YouTube. I completely lost track of time yesterday, so I didn’t do my blog post for this challenge. I shall not be defeated, however, and shall simply acknowledge my setback and pick up where I left off.
The theme for day three is to write about the longest story or series of stories I’ve read. This is actually a difficult question to answer for two reasons. Firstly, I have read so many fanfics over the years that I simply can’t remember every single one of them. I will solve this issue by simply choosing from the stories I’ve kept as favourites.
Secondly, this question could be interpreted in several ways. Does it mean the series with the greatest number of stories? Does it mean the story with the highest word count? Or does it refer to overall word count, regardless of the total number of stories? Continue reading →
